July 1 is the deadline for national and international filmmakers to send their film proposals. This is an activity organized by the Millennium Institute of Oceanography (IMO), the Artistas del Acero Cultural Corporation, the University of Concepción and IMAGO Producciones.
In its third version, the Sea Film Festival seeks to congregate documentary and film productions, both national and international, which have the oceans as a common theme, addressing their topics from a scientific, cultural and artistic point of view.
It should be noted this is the first time that the Festival is organized as an independent event, since the two previous versions were part of the Puerto de Ideas program.
The Festival will take place from October 3 to 6 at the Artistas del Acero Cultural Corporation of Concepción.
The event will present a selection of productions into two categories "Best feature film" (films from 40 minutes in length) and "Best short film" (up to 40 minutes in length). All creations must present content related to the oceans as the main focus.
The award considers a single prize per category of USD$500 for "Best Feature Film" and USD$250 for "Best Short Film".
